This month, we paired the Sarris Candies Pecanettes with a new arrival wine of ours that we discovered in Spain - the 2010 La Cueva Garnacha Old Vines. Since we started recently selling it, it has been a big hit! This Spanish wine offers a wonderful nose of smoky black cherries, black raspberries, licorice and white pepper. It also happens to be one of the best values in our inventory at only $14.95 per bottle!
Add in the Sarris Pecanettes with this wine, and you are in for a fantastic tasting experience.
Part of the fun of eating a Pecanette is that sweet, soft strand of caramel that always seems unwilling to relinquish each bite you take. Sarris’ very own warm, golden caramel is poured over chunks of fresh Georgia pecans, then drenched in thick milk chocolate. A chewy, oh-so-gooey treat. Choose from a 5 oz., 1 lb. or 2 lb. box.
We paired the scrumptious Sarris milk chocolate covered Pecanettes with the 2010 La Cueva Garnacha Old Vines from Spain. Deep purple in color and a wine that we discovered in Spain, the La Cueva Garnacha Old Vines has a wonderful nose of smoky black cherries, black raspberries, licorice and white pepper. This wine is full-bodied with a wonderful silky texture and a great liquid minerality that you normally find in high-priced Spanish wines.
The silky texture of this Spanish value gem paired perfectly with the caramel centers of the Pecanettes that just melt in your mouth as soon as you take your first bite. The lingering finish on this wine (which you'll love!) allows you to savor the incredible mix of milk chocolate and pecans that make this pairing so irresistible. The 2010 La Cueva Garnacha Old Vines drinks well now, yet will age for another 4-5 years. An incredible value wine, it’s priced at only $14.95, yet it tastes like it costs much more!
