This month, we paired the delicious Sarris Espresso Ganache with one of our newest arrival wines, 2009 Waterstone Cabernet Sauvignon, the highest scoring Waterstone ever. This Napa Valley Cab is packed with chocolate, dark fruit and currants and has a finish that just lingers and lingers. At under-$20 per bottle, it offers affordability and great taste, yet it tastes like it costs five times the price! We’ve been selling Waterstone ever since the 2001 vintage was released, and it is a customer favorite year after year. We can always rely on it to deliver complete satisfaction. The Waterstone’s dark fruit flavors pair effortlessly well with the whipped creamy centers of ganache. Sip on this wine while enjoying the incredible Sarris Espresso Ganache. This is a must-try duo!

Dark chocolate, fresh cream and robust espresso are whipped together into a feather-light ganache center that simply melts in your mouth. This sweet surprise is then layered with thick, homemade milk chocolate. Go ahead. Indulge.
The fun continues this month with another fantastic wine and chocolate pairing. We matched the Sarris Espresso Ganache with one of our favorite under-$20 Napa Cabs, Waterstone Cabernet Sauvignon. We’ve been selling this wine every year since the 2001 vintage, and both our staff and our customers have really developed a love for this wine over the years. This is a wine that’s ordered by the caseload for all occasions. It’s been served at the most high-end affairs to the most casual events. It’s priced at only $19.95 and truly tastes like it costs five times the price! You might even mistake it for a California cult wine that costs over $500 per bottle!
This is a very fun pairing. We tasted so many wines that really complemented the Espresso Ganache that it was actually hard to pick the winner. In the end, the Waterstone Cabernet Sauvignon, with its beautiful bouquet, and the flavors of dark fruit, spices, espresso, toasted oak and even a touch of tobacco made the Sarris candy just explode. In our opinion, it was the dark chocolate and lively espresso from Sarris that made the chocolate and wine coat our mouths in a super balanced and delicious manner.
The newest vintage of Waterstone, the 2009 vintage, was just released a few months ago. And there is already a lot of excitement swirling around this wine. In May, leading wine critic, James Suckling blind tasted this wine and gave it 93 points on the spot! This 93 point score makes the 2009 vintage the highest scoring Waterstone to date! James Suckling had this to say: “This is amazing value in California Cab. It’s hard to believe…”
