The Pitt-Jolie-Perrin Team Has Done it Again!

If you’re looking for the perfect bottle to bring to the beach, on a picnic or to any summer gathering, why not try the newest release from Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and the Perrin Family?  2014 was a great effort, but I think 2015 will top it easily. Perhaps I’m just ready for a summer sipping wine, but my experience with the 2015 proved to me that Pitt, Jolie and Perrin know what they are doing when it comes to Rosé

In 2012, Jolie and Pitt purchased the 1,500-acre estate and haven’t looked back. The famous Perrin family, who you might know from Chateau de Beaucastel in the Rhone Valley, has paired with the celebrity couple to produce four vintages that have impressed the world of wine. Pitt and Jolie have the utmost respect for the estate and the land. They believe in the potential and want to continue the success by adding superb vintages of Rosé to the history books. They have picked the perfect partner as well, for the Perrin family is more than up to the task.

I popped and poured this bottle with a group of friends who were all as eager as I for the latest vintage. The bottle had been chilled for sometime and when poured, it was the perfect temperature that made my glass almost too refreshing. The Miraval was a beautiful rose gold in the glass that was as enjoyable to look at as it was to drink. I was pleased by the nose: ocean mist, wild strawberry and white peach. It almost screamed “take me to the beach”. Medium-bodied with a crisp, saline infused finished. A little tart which reminded me of biting into the first peach of summer.

As this is the most recent vintage, there is no official rating but I believe a 93 point score suits this bottle well. Year after year, we sell through the Miraval before the summer even begins. It’s hard to find a quality Rosé with this pricing! For only $22.95 per bottle, you can have a delicious Rosé from one of the more prestigious estates in Provence. It only makes sense to grab a case or two for all of your summer adventures. I am already stocked for the season… are you?
