Wine Critic Reviews:

The 2010 Montevetrano is flat-out gorgeous. Vibrant, floral aromatics lead to layers of beautifully delineated fruit in this finely sculpted chiseled Montevetrano. A wine of extraordinary beauty, the 2010 impresses for its clarity and nuance. I don't think I have ever tasted a young Montevetrano with this much pure silkiness and finesse. There is a level of precision and delineation in the 2010 that is truly marvelous. I can't wait to see how it ages... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Country Italy: What are the first things that come to mind when thinking about Italy and Italian culture? There's one thing that nearly everyone tends to mention, it's the food - and where there's fine food, there is almost always fine wine. Italy is the most prolific wine region in the world, outclassing even France in terms of production quantity. Even if you're a complete wine novice, you have almost certainly heard of names such as Barolo and Barbaresco, Italy's most famous wine styles. When it comes to soil composition and other geographical characteristics, Italy offers a lot of diversity, and this never fails to show in the wines themselves.
Producer Imparato: The name "Imparato" takes us to the region of Campania in Italy, where a wine hobbyist's interest developed into an inspiring success story. In Montevetrano, Silvia Imparato claimed the vineyards that would eventually produce some of Italy's most respected and delicious reds. With a strong focus on preserving the region's tradition and a thorough and dedicated approach in the fields, Imparato manages to put out stunning wines with remarkable consistency. The wines themselves are compelling, intricate and detailed, rewarding patience both before the bottle is opened, and after it's in your glass. The terroir expression is through the roof, to the point where a single sip can transport your mind and spirit to Campania directly. Set aside a bottle for a rainy introspective evening, and get to know Imparato intimately.

Region Campania: You simply can't leave Italy without devoting enough time to each one of the spectacular wine regions where you can find some of the most sensational wines you've ever tasted. It may not be the most popular one, but the region of Campania is the home to certain wines you shouldn't let slide. This "happy land" has one of the longest histories of winemaking in Italy. It's also quite unique, given that some of the grape varieties that grow in Campania are very hard to find anywhere else. We can easily say this region is nothing short of legendary - it has even kept the influences of ancient Greeks and Romans. The wide array of grape varieties contributes to the diversity characteristic of Campania. Aglianico is unquestionably one of the most popular varieties, used to make wonderful red wine with high acidity and enjoyable berry flavors. White wines don't fall behind - Fiano is an exquisite variety with touches of pineapple and honey. Other than these grapes, which probably sound familiar to many wine lovers, there are lots of lesser-known varieties that also make captivating wines. Aglianico del Taburno and Greco di Tufo are just some of the names you need to see on the label while pouring yourself a glass of some of the finest Campanian wines.
Type of Wine Italy (Other): There are dozens of grape varietals grown in Italy so no wonder they produce such a broad range of most exquisite wines. Some of the most cultivated red varieties are Nebbiolo, Aglianico, Sangiovese, and Barbera, while Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are also popular. Among whites, you're likely to find Pinot Grigio, Trebbiano, or Vernaccia varietals.
