Wine Critic Reviews:

…another lovely bottle… The bouquet delivers a constellation of pear, lime, a touch of passion fruit, chalky minerality and apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core… Fine, fine juice…

A more elegant nose displays more classic aromas of mineral reduction, iodine, oyster shell and a pretty mix of both white and yellow fruit scents. There is good ripeness to the delicious, dense and more mineral-driven flavors that are less powerful but more refined, all wrapped in a generous, opulent and complex finale. Lovely stuff that should be at once accessible young but also reward 5 to 8 years of cellaring.

Located above Grenouilles on limestone and clay soils, Vaudesir is a sheltered vineyard which retains warmth in the summer. As a result, the wines are often very attractive, with pronounced floral notes combining with the classic flinty palate of top Chablis. From the structured 2015 vintage, this is crisp and full of bright acidity, allied to some creamy, lactic notes on the palate. Still closed on the nose, this will benefit from a few more years of ageing. Drinking Window 2021 - 2030

(13.3% natural alcohol; picked on the first day of the harvest but not hailed on): Pale, slightly cloudy yellow. Captivating lift to the aromas of lemon, spearmint and crushed stone; reminded me a bit of Alsace Riesling in its piercing, high-toned character. Pineapple and dusty mineral flavors are enlivened by ripe harmonious acidity. Finishes with excellent cut and lift. This wine hasn't been racked in a while and will probably be tighter at bottling, said Séguier, who noted that production here was barely 30 hectoliters per hectare.

The 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir had quite a primal, grapey bouquet when I tasted it, touches of nettle and granite eventually developing in the glass. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, a little waxier in texture than I expected and for me, just missing some tension and mineralité on the finish. I prefer the Bougros to the Vaudésir, at the moment
