A Summer Must-Have!

Whispering Angel Rose“In the Esclans Valley angels whisper. If you drink this wine, you might hear them. If by chance you visit us, you might see them.” - Sacha Alexis Lichine, Winemaker

June 21st has come and gone which means summer is upon us. I think most of us can agree summer was here even before that date. School is out, the heat seems like it is turned up this year which just makes me yearn for the sun, sand and of course a drink in my hand.

This is the season of Rosé and what better bottle to kick off the summer than the 2014 Chateau D’Esclans Whispering Angel Rosé.  Year after year Chateau D’Esclans produces a magnificent bottle of light, refreshing Rosé that is a pleasure to experience each time you pop and pour.  I’ve stocked my wine unit with a case; wouldn’t you like to do the same?

Whether you plan on having just a glass or two while sitting on your back porch, or even bring a bottle to your neighbor’s barbeque – we have three formats to meet all of your needs.

The crisp citrus and juicy strawberry on the nose and palate draw you in, wanting more. This is easy sipping for warm weather events, and it’s always a crowd pleaser! Truly delicious and refreshing, pairing well with the lighter foods we favor in the summertime.  I paired my bottle with a very light salad of berries, avocado, quinoa and kale – can you tell I follow the health food fads?  It was a wonderful pairing though: light, refreshing and so perfect after a hot day. I highly suggest both, separate or together!

The next time you plan a fun summer event, I recommend having a few bottles of the 2014 D’Esclans Whispering Angel Rosé on hand. With the low price of $18.95, it’s a summer must have!

“An elegant nose of red currants, tangerines, dried flowers and exotic spices. Very lively on the palate with blood orange, floral notes and very nice minerality leading to another level of flavor intensity on the terrific long finish.” - Sokolin Tasting Panel
