As the saying goes "Write what you know about", I feel compelled to kick-off my writing with one of my all time favorite wines - Waterstone Cabernet Sauvignon.

If you subscribe to our email offers I'm sure you've seen us feature this one but just in case you haven't seen it yet here is a quick version of their story:

Napa Valley nice guys Phillip Zorn and Brent Shortridge decided in 2000 to "create luxury wines at affordable prices".

To that end Phillip and Brent were able to obtain the left over juice from one of the ultra-rare and expensive California Cult producers, finish and bottle the wine themselves under their Waterstone label. There has been much conjecture on whose juice it is - especially from clients that try the wine. But, Phillip and Brent aren't talking - they can't as they have signed an iron-clad non-disclosure agreement.

In March of 2005 I was on the phone with Brent begging for more of the 2002 vintage and during that conversation I tried to get him to tell me the source. His reply: "I can't because if I do I could lose the greatest wine making deal on the face of the planet". Strong words, indeed.

Now, I've told this story to countless clients and have sold (literally) hundreds of cases of Waterstone. But a good story about a great wine is still just a story if the wine doesn't live up to the hype. Waterstone delivers every time! I can't even remember how many clients have grabbed an extra case or rounded out a case with Waterstone based on my recommendation and have called me back to not only buy more but thank me for recommending it.

This wine impresses EVERYONE that tries it - from the newbie that isn't even sure what Cabernet is to the grizzled cult-wine junkie. That's how great this wine is. Served blind against other much more expensive California Cabernets it often beats all others and always beats most. OH! and at just $19.95 is an absolute steal!!

Waterstone is just clean, pure and beautiful Napa Valley red wine. So just believe me, you'll love this wine. Get a case and write your own review or better yet, give me a call - I'd love to hear what you think.
