The 2009 Lynch-Moussas has a fleshy ripe, mulberry and cedar scented bouquet with hints of tobacco and pencil box developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite cohesive and focused with good depth, fresh and lithe towards the classic cedar and graphite finish. This is an excellent showing for an underrated Pauillac. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.

Soft and juicy wine, all blackberry fruit and attractive acidity. There is a smoky wood edge just to add extra interest, while tannins are light and sweet.

Pretty open for a Pauillac at 10 years old, this is a good wine to drink now, offering a hint of of the rich generosity of the 2009 sunshine, combined with the tannic pulse of Pauillac. Smoked cloves run through the mid-palate with well handled oak. Enjoyable and well made, though lacks a little hold through the finish. Drinking Window 2019 - 2036.
