The 2020 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a crisp bouquet with crushed rock mixed with touches of dried flowers and a light sea spray note - classic Chablis really. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry. Touches of dried honey and chamomile, but underneath it all is a fine mineral spine and a decent, quite Les Preuses-like finish. Fine. Fine combination of fruit ripeness allied with purity of flavour, zesty citrus acidity and a lingering mineral quality on the finish. Plenty of concentration here. Will age but already drinking well. Based in Lignerolles, Lavantureux are one of the region’s rising stars.Decanter | 91 DEC

Fresh clear pale colour. The nose has less character than my favourites in the line-up. Takes a little time, then more emerges. There is something of a steely backbone, this is nicely made but I pine for pinot in this vineyard. Well balanced. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted: October 2023.Jasper Morris | 91 JM
