Wine Critic Reviews:

Along with the 1986, the 1982 is one of the greatest Talbots ever made. Far more evolved than its stablemate, Gruaud Larose, it exhibits a dense garnet color to the rim along with a huge, sweet, exotic nose of charcoal, beef blood, licorice, herbs, and black fruits. A hint of figs suggests borderline overripeness, but the wine remains fleshy and full-bodied with sweet tannin and an expansive, heady mouthfeel. While fully mature, it should hold for another decade. Robert Parker

Sokolin 1982 Talbot Tasting Notes:

One of the most popular Medoc wines has this title for a reason. Its subtlety and exceptional balance are epic, and it shows a flawless combination of cassis, plum, dark berries and licorice, with dashes of tobacco. With the spectacular, refined and silky tannins, this wine doesn't lack intensity and it's wonderfully complex.

This lovely Cabernet blend is an absolute must-have whether you want it for your cellar or a special celebration with your loved ones. It still isn't past its peak and will be drinkable for at least a decade from now, if not more. We can say that this was one of the most spectacular years for Talbot wines, so its longevity doesn't come as a surprise. The freshness and glossiness of this Talbot are truly unique, it's almost like a magical potion made by a fairy godmother, destined to breathe in life into your body and soul with its sweet and youthful nose and rich, charming palate.
