Wine Critic Reviews:

Deep garnet-black colour. An incredible array of aromas on the nose: blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, espresso, leather, black olive and loam. The palate is absolutely seamless from first impression to finish, effortlessly building layers of complexity in the mouth and leading to a very long, earth and spice finish. I can't see how this could possibly be improvement so have no alternative but concede perfection. Drink now to 2045+.

  1. Gigantic, powerful as a youth and going upwards.
    Product Rating
    80%
If I was a collector I wouldn't pass an opportunity like this. Gigantic, powerful as a youth and going upwards. This wine is definitely worth checking out. The palate was big and kept unfolding, and the focus simply incredible. Where it lost me was in the ever-so-strong tannins and, quite frankly, the paralyzing boldness. It's apparent that the wine needs some more cellar time before integrating and softening up around the edges. Personally I don't find this problematic, it's just how it is momentarily, but I do predict it to become a sublime, completed experience in at least 3-5 years from now. Could have a profound drinking span of over 50 years from then on.

  2. Such vibrancy and central strength
    Product Rating
    100%
I could have sworn this is a fresh, new and highly-potent Bordeaux. Such vibrancy and central strength, the bouquet that could probably be loud and clear in the next room, the overwhelming bunch of fruit on the palate… the wine's unbelievable. Twenty something years in, this good and still not even hitting the plateau? What else to say when the wine's been sitting out for four full hours before others tasted it and still had the same exact energy and opulence to it, as if opened seconds ago. I'm making sure to grab a couple more of these bottles while they're still available. Can't imagine what a legend this will become once it fully matures.
