Wine Critic Reviews:

...Superb definition though The palate is very harmonious, with well knit tannins. Wild strawberry (from the 33% merlot) tobacco and cedar. Unmistakably Pauillac. Overall, showing more sophistication and focus than Mouton...Slightly more opaque than the Lafite 1990. This is much mellower on the nose, minerally, graphite, cedar and some black pepper. The palate has less richness and alcohol than the 1990, superb balance and more clarity and balance. Very minerally, cedary and burnt toast. This shows lovely restraint. A lovely Lafite, one that begs to accompany some Pauillac lamb. Neal Martin (eRobertParker.com)

Sokolin 1989 Lafite Rothschild Tasting Notes:

Like a soft, familiar hand stroking your hair and your face gently as you fall asleep, this wine will caress all your senses with an elegant and tender touch. It will feel as soothing and safe as a hug coming from a beloved person. A bottle of the 1989 La Lagune can be what you'll reach for when you need to cheer up your palate with true delight.

Grown between the sea and the Gironde river, these beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon grapes have become one of the most gorgeous wines of the region. The Haut-Medoc appellation cannot deliver a bad wine - the only question is if it's drinkable now, or you should wait for its peak. For this particular bottle, the time is now. Hurry up and you'll get a chance to experience its classy palate with silky tannins and rich berry and currant taste, with some exotic coconut and sweet chocolate in the finish.
