Wine Critic Reviews:

A beauty, this deep ruby-colored wine offers a classic, smoky, cherry, red and black currant-scented nose, sweet, lush, forward fruit, medium body, true delicacy and elegance...perfect balance, and a lovely, long, supple, velvety-textured finish. This is a ballerina of a claret, with beautiful aromatics, lovely flavors, and impeccable equilibrium.

Sokolin 1995 Haut Bailly Tasting Notes:

A perfect La Mouline offering from the prodigious house. This wine has it all. A vast and opulent nose of berry, thyme and olives, and a spherical palate of a river bank brimming with bacon and earth, with hundreds of secondaries and tertiaries overlapping lusciously. The muscular body carries over a storm of gushing aromas forming and transforming in the air and gracing the mouth with such tenderness, you could say drinking it is considered self-care. A real fortune to be in the same room with, let alone sample its ruby depths shimmering and dancing inside your glass. If you had the pleasure, you'd take delight in it decades after, a wonderful memory of a regal experience, the time you felt divine and all-powerful.

This wine is something entirely different than what the vast majority of people will have the opportunity to feel. Collectors are wisely filling their stocks now (if they didn't ten years ago), as should all who hope to ever taste this charmer.

Country France: Words fail us when trying to adequately portray France's place in the world of wine. It's downright impossible to imagine what wine would feel and taste like had it not been for France's many, many viticultural pioneers. Fine wine is the blood of France's vigorously beating heart, and it finds itself in many aspects of French culture. With a viticultural history that dates all the way back to the 6th century BC, France now enjoys its position as the most famous and reputable wine region on the planet. If you have a burning passion for masterfully crafted, mouth-watering, mind-expanding wines, then regular visits to France are probably already in your schedule, and for a good reason.
Producer H.Bailly: Chateau Haut-Bailly specializes in precise, classic Bordeaux elegance. Their textures are like a colorful, intricate mosaic, while the flavors combine to create a drink that is ten times better than the sum of its parts. The fruit is perfectly ripe, as though the vineyard workers counted every second of the grapevines' lifespan before picking the grapes, and the result is a wine that explodes with juicy flavor from the moment you take your first sip. The spices and tobacco cut through the rich fruit beautifully, adding some welcome contrast and edge to the experience. Wines like this are a dream come true for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Have a look through our selection and discover just what makes Chateau Haut-Bailly so appealing and popular among connoisseurs.

Region Bordeaux: Even among the greatest and most reputable wine regions on the planet, Bordeaux stands above the rest. The winemakers of this region have a single-minded dedication to the fine art of viticulture and their efforts never fail to show. If you consider yourself a fine wine enthusiast, you owe it to yourself to visit Bordeaux - life changing. Whether you wish to drink some inspirational and gripping wine as soon as possible, or you want to add some masterpieces to your collection, no region on Earth is a more obvious choice. The noble and beautiful Garonne and Dordogne rivers surge through southwestern France, enriching the soil in a way very few other places can boast. The limestone-based earth is rich in calcium, and the almost oceanic climate conditions give the staple Bordeaux grape varietals vigor and flavor like nowhere else. For their illustrious reds, Bordeaux winemakers rely on a proven combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Meanwhile, a sip of their excellent white wine hints at the use of Semillon, Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc. Each of these varietals carries a unique identity, making every quality wine a character piece to rival Citizen Kane. It can be incredibly hard to choose only a few wines to collect for your cellar!
Type of Wine Bordeaux Red: Picture in your mind a combination of cedar, lead pencil, blackcurrant, plum and mineral aromatics, and texture that caresses your palate like a playful lover. The experience is thrilling from the first whiff to the final seconds of a tannic, generous finish - that is what you'll get from a Bordeaux Red
Varietal Bordeaux Blend: Since its birth in France, the art of Bordeaux-inspired blends has been brought to regions like California, and Washington, where New World visionaries add their own unique spin to the formula, creating mouth-watering tributes to Bordeaux's viticultural greatness. Today, with a compelling cultural mixture, sampling Bordeaux blends is more excited than ever.
