Raspberries are perfectly ripe and dreamy, and it feels like they explode in your mouthWhile it may not be my favorite Margaux, this vintage should not be underestimated. I purchased two bottles - one for the cellar, one for the dinner table. My wife enjoyed it even more than I did, and that second bottle may get opened in front of our family members. The price is reasonable, and the wine is remarkable.
I like the creamy vanilla influence juxtaposed with the more earthy feeling of toasted oak. Raspberries are perfectly ripe and dreamy, and it feels like they explode in your mouth. If that sounds appealing, then I can imagine you would enjoy this wine.
Vintages like these can sometimes remind us why we are fascinated by the world of wine, and all of its beautiful subtleties. What a bombshell of a wine this is! The visionaries at Chateau Margaux managed to outperform not just their competition, but themselves as well. The main star of the show, at least when it comes to flavors, is the incredibly juicy raspberry presence. Vanilla and oak effortlessly hold their own as well. It all culminates through a very tasteful, extended finish.
Vintages like these can sometimes remind us why we are fascinated by the world of wine, and all of its beautiful subtleties. The thrill that comes with sampling fine wine combines perfectly with the excited anticipation that precedes it.
