Sokolin 1995 Meyney Tasting Notes:

What a marvelous little treat this wine is. Abundant with black cherry jam and wood trunk both on the nose and the palate, this wine is a sweet surrender to a better reality, like a bird song caressing your ears and a beautiful nectar on the tip of your tongue. You can just imagine the splendid galore of blooming nature, alive with millions of organisms caught in a moment of growth and prosperity. There is no detail that could derail from this palpable, tasteable bliss. It is only after the finish that the air is lifted and you are transported back, thoroughly moved and left to make sense of what just occurred.

What may present a problem with this impressive wine, though, is the fact that it’s only a bottle, and eventually you will have to part with it. All good things must end, but you can opt to enjoy them first or miss out completely. The choice is yours.

Country France: Words fail us when trying to adequately portray France's place in the world of wine. It's downright impossible to imagine what wine would feel and taste like had it not been for France's many, many viticultural pioneers. Fine wine is the blood of France's vigorously beating heart, and it finds itself in many aspects of French culture. With a viticultural history that dates all the way back to the 6th century BC, France now enjoys its position as the most famous and reputable wine region on the planet. If you have a burning passion for masterfully crafted, mouth-watering, mind-expanding wines, then regular visits to France are probably already in your schedule, and for a good reason.
Producer Meyney: Most connoisseurs will agree that Chateau Meyney's true rise to popularity and relevance started in the early 20th century, but the actual history goes much further back than that. Chateau Meyney has surpassed all standards they previously held to produce mouth-watering, rich wine that could please even the most demanding critics in the world. With a varietal spread of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, Chateau Meyney has its feet firmly planted in the red wine camp. From the silky-smooth tannins that gently caress your tongue, to the incredible depth of flavor that makes the red and dark berries shine brighter than in most other wines, everything melds together perfectly. The finish extends surprisingly far, but it's not an unwelcome surprise - quite the contrary.
Region Bordeaux: Even among the greatest and most reputable wine regions on the planet, Bordeaux stands above the rest. The winemakers of this region have a single-minded dedication to the fine art of viticulture and their efforts never fail to show. If you consider yourself a fine wine enthusiast, you owe it to yourself to visit Bordeaux - life changing. Whether you wish to drink some inspirational and gripping wine as soon as possible, or you want to add some masterpieces to your collection, no region on Earth is a more obvious choice. The noble and beautiful Garonne and Dordogne rivers surge through southwestern France, enriching the soil in a way very few other places can boast. The limestone-based earth is rich in calcium, and the almost oceanic climate conditions give the staple Bordeaux grape varietals vigor and flavor like nowhere else. For their illustrious reds, Bordeaux winemakers rely on a proven combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Meanwhile, a sip of their excellent white wine hints at the use of Semillon, Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc. Each of these varietals carries a unique identity, making every quality wine a character piece to rival Citizen Kane. It can be incredibly hard to choose only a few wines to collect for your cellar!
Type of Wine Bordeaux Red: Picture in your mind a combination of cedar, lead pencil, blackcurrant, plum and mineral aromatics, and texture that caresses your palate like a playful lover. The experience is thrilling from the first whiff to the final seconds of a tannic, generous finish - that is what you'll get from a Bordeaux Red
