Wine Critic Reviews:

Wonderfully ripe and decadent, with tobacco, meat and ripe berry aromas, with hints of currants. Full-bodied, and very velvety, with unctuous fruit flavors. Long and exotic aftertaste. Terrific wine...

Sokolin 2000 Carruades de Lafite Tasting Notes:

Luxurious, decadent, rejuvenating, this terrific wine is a testimony to Lafite's aristocratic elegance. It presents itself with perfumed grace immediately on the attack, its bouquet a rich mixture of smoke, meat, dark berries, and spice above all else. The width that follows on the palate is extraordinary; waves and waves of cherry, creme de cassis, lead pencil, dark chocolate, blueberry, and herbs never run out of verve as they break upon the walls of your mouth. Yet, the wine feels rather velvety and smooth to touch, suave and sophisticated without sediment. It flows uninterruptedly, a big body of ripe opulence that tastes and feels healing as your body awakens and relaxes at the same time as if in a state of trance.

The long, elaborate finish leaves you on an exotic high note so seductive that you feel the wine's grip the strongest as it's slowly starting to fade away. After the spell finally releases you, renewed and inspired, hardly anybody could resist the temptation of pouring another glass.

The 2000 is for those who need more than the ordinary to excite and feed their soul, those who won't settle with anything less than an enthralling, empowering elixir such as this one. If you're ready for a display of otherworldly elegance, now is your chance to grab a bottle.

The limestone-based earth is rich in calcium, and the almost oceanic climate conditions give the staple Bordeaux grape varietals vigor and flavor like nowhere else. For their illustrious reds, Bordeaux winemakers rely on a proven combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Meanwhile, a sip of their excellent white wine hints at the use of Semillon, Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc. Each of these varietals carries a unique identity, making every quality wine a character piece to rival Citizen Kane. It can be incredibly hard to choose only a few wines to collect for your cellar!
