2000 Margaux- 750 ml
Wine Critic Reviews:
|Type of Wine||Bordeaux Red|
Medium-bodied, but bursting with intensity and aroma.This wine is most certainly a heavy-hitter. Medium-bodied, but bursting with intensity and aroma. There's an air of dignified maturity and power on display, as the red, black and blue fruits explode onto your palate. From the earliest intoxicating whiff to the magnificent finish, the wine does more than hold its own. Approachable, but with enough complexity to keep your attention.<br/>I was worried that the new oak would overpower the other flavors and aromatics, but thankfully that wasn't the case. The wine is layered and compelling, without sacrificing what makes it approachable. I predict several delicious decades still in store.
I would recommend this wine to everyone who loves a good red.This wine is nothing short of stunning. It's got more layers than a luxurious wedding cake, and more complexity than you can even imagine. You can drink it now, or wait, and the experience will be incredible whenever you decide to uncork. I bought this bottle secretly for my wife's birthday, and she was ecstatic! She loves Margaux wines, and this is one of her favorite vintages. We sat in front of the fireplace with the record player on, listening to nostalgic music from our youth and just having fun. I would recommend this wine to everyone who loves a good red.
