Wine Critic Reviews:

...composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc...wine such as this is like the quintessence of terroir. A super, uber-concentrated perfume of creme de cassis and flowers cascades across the palate with a lightness of being despite massive concentration, a sumptuous personality, and an unctuous texture. I have never tasted a Chateau Margaux quite like this. It should be relatively drinkable at an early age, yet will last for 50-100 years. Oh my!...

  1. Everything I ever wanted from a Margaux is present, from the layered flavor arrangement to the incredibly pleasant mouthfeel.

My God, this wine was a ride. Everything I ever wanted from a Margaux is present, from the layered flavor arrangement to the incredibly pleasant mouthfeel. The wine caresses your taste buds like no other, and strong notes of blackberries and blueberries create a wild forest feeling, especially when combined with the mineral-infused undergrowth essence.
Not only does the wine taste well today, but experts also claim it can last three decades, if not longer. With that kind of longevity, it's a great choice for cellaring, especially if you have a penchant for collecting remarkable wines. It's hard to put into words just how good this wine is - try it for yourself!

  2. The taste slowly develops as you drink, introducing notes of violet and mineral to round out the drinking experience.

Not the finest Margaux I've had, but it comes pretty close. On the nose, it's a breeze of floral and fruit aromatics, especially lilacs and blackberries. Every flavor has this vivacious, vigorous swoosh to it, with a lot of concentration and purity. The taste slowly develops as you drink, introducing notes of violet and mineral to round out the drinking experience.
I will be keeping an eye on this vintage. I can't imagine a party it wouldn't be appropriate for, and it's always nice to have multiple bottles for personal use or to share with friends. Well worth the asking price.
