Wine Critic Reviews for 2017 Blain Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet Boudriottes

Smoke and petrol-tinged aromas offer up notes of white peach, lemon zest and a hint of apricot. There is once again excellent volume to the intense and vibrant medium weight plus flavors that possess a caressing yet muscular mouth feel, all wrapped in a lingering and balanced finish. This will need to add a bit more depth to merit my rating but the underlying material seems more than sufficient for that to occur.

Burghound | 92 BH
A sleek and subtly expressive style, revealing lemon tart, apple and toasted spice flavors. This builds in intensity to a long, fruit- and spice-tinged finish. Picks up a mineral element on the aftertaste.

Country France: Words fail us when trying to adequately portray France's place in the world of wine. It's downright impossible to imagine what wine would feel and taste like had it not been for France's many, many viticultural pioneers. Fine wine is the blood of France's vigorously beating heart, and it finds itself in many aspects of French culture. With a viticultural history that dates all the way back to the 6th century BC, France now enjoys its position as the most famous and reputable wine region on the planet. If you have a burning passion for masterfully crafted, mouth-watering, mind-expanding wines, then regular visits to France are probably already in your schedule, and for a good reason.
Producer B.Gagnard: Despite its relative youth (40 years old, to be precise), Domaine Blain-Gagnard keeps earning attention from Chardonnay lovers and Pinot Noir enthusiasts worldwide, and their recent successes hint at the winery's immense potential. Their wines contain that familiar Burgundian essence, but with a few unexpected twists and turns that we can safely attribute to the winery's developing style. With several highly desirable plots of land under their ownership, the creative visionaries behind Domaine Blain-Gagnard have everything they need to make a massive impact on the wine world. Some would even say they've already done so, and if you need any convincing, a single bottle will do just fine. Don't be surprised when your friends start asking for your wine contact list somewhere down the line!
