The Piedmont of today would probably look drastically different had it not been for Fontanafredda, one of the region’s most reputable and respected estates. Whether you prefer tasteful Barolos, luxurious and sophisticated Barbarescos, a bottle or two of Dolcetto d’Alba, or one of several other types of Italian wine, Fontanafredda has your needs covered. The winery can easily be described as a “jack of all trades,” but to say that they are a master of none would do the winery a great disservice. Their 85 hectares of land contains several different soil compositions, which is reflected in the wines themselves. This diversity adds a sense of adventure to any sampling, and it’s easy to get lost in a sea of subtle aromatic traces and incredibly potent, ripe fruit. Enjoy!
