Bordeaux Margaux Wines

The appellation of Margaux also includes the villages Labarde, Cantenac, Arsac and Soussans. The Gironde flows quietly, reflecting the beautiful cloudscape above as it brings life to the surrounding soil. The rough gravel adds toughness and strength to the vines, while providing precious drainage to keep the grapes healthy. Margaux boasts an impressive 21 cru classé châteaux, more than any other commune in all of Bordeaux – and it’s not for lack of competition, we can tell you that.

The 1413 hectares of vineyards primarily house Cabernet Sauvignon, but it wouldn’t be a Bordeaux commune without the presence of varietals such as Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. These wines perfume your mouth with a strong aroma of black currant, and the texture is rich and well-structured. They are grandiose, elegant, opulent and bold, wines that can convince you of the existence of higher powers through raw quality.

Naturally, these wines are coveted by collectors and enthusiasts around the globe. We aim to unite our clients with the finest Margaux wines, so that they would understand our deep fascination with the commune and its history of greatness. Whether you wish to hoard and admire these bottles in the privacy of your cellar, or uncork them in front of famished guests, Margaux wines boldly claim their place amongst Bordeaux’s most essential.

2020 La Sirene de Giscours

The 2020 La Sirene de Giscours is a gorgeous second wine. Bright and deep, with tons of drive the 2020 is seriously impressive. Dark cherry, dried herbs, menthol, licorice and dark spice build effortlessly, driven by bright acids and tons of nervous energy. The balance here is simply impeccable.Vinous Media | 93 VMBlack cherry and berry character with plenty of cedar and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s full and rather juicy with a solid backbone of tannins. Flavorful finish. Give it three or four years to soften and open. Muscular second wine. Try after 2025.James Suckling | 93 JSExotic spice on the nose, along with cedar, perfumed pine needles and blackcurrants. Juicy and sapid, gorgeous in both texture and mouthfeel. Tannins are fine and support the ripe black fruit. Lovely salinity, a feeling of crushed stones on the tongue with concentrated fruits. Direct and precise, elegant, balanced and so approachable. Supple, a tiny bit dry on the mid-palate but fresh and charming with liquorice and a minty-fresh finish. Great potential here, but wait three to five years.Decanter | 92 DECThe second wine of this terrific estate is the 2020 La Sirène De Giscours, which checks in as 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot. It’s a balanced, medium-bodied, elegant Margaux with pretty cassis and darker berry fruits, some violet and spicy wood notes, soft tannins, and outstanding length. Drink this impeccably made, balanced second wine over the coming 10-12+ years.Jeb Dunnuck | 91 JDThe 2020 La Sirene de Giscours is especially polished and refined, offering up aromas of blackberries, cassis, violets and burning embers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, suave and seamless palate. It will drink well on release.Robert Parker Wine Advocate | 90 RPLush and forward, with a caressing feel to the friendly mix of plum puree, warmed cassis and violet notes. This has a light singed sandalwood note, which lets the fruit play out on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2029.Wine Spectator | 90 WS
