The 2022 Cocodrilo Corte is a blend driven by its 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by 22% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, and 1% Syrah, the latter from a cool spot with stony soils. The grapes are fermented and pressed separately and aged 14 months in 15% new French oak barrels, with the rest in second- and third-year barrels. With a strong herbal character, it shines in notes of pencil shavings, tobacco, and dried herb. The redcurrant, black cherry, and plum give the wine a juicy underbelly supported by integrated tannin, while the Syrah adds an undeniable hint of white pepper. This is great wine at a great price with the potential to age 10-12 years.Jeb Dunnuck | 93 JDThis almost-Bordeaux-style blend includes 72% cabernet sauvignon, 21% cabernet franc, 5% malbec and 2% syrah. It offers deep, dark black cherries, blueberries, umami and subtle savory notes on a mouth-filling, moderately tannic texture. Great structure comes with a lively through-line of acidity.
