The 2019 Santenay 1er Cru Le Passetemps is lovely, bursting with aromas of ripe berries, plums, raw cocoa, licorice and sweet spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety, its chassis of powdery tannins is cloaked in a wealth of rich but succulent fruit. This is a gourmand, sensual Passetemps from Jean-Marc Vincent.Robert Parker Wine Advocate | 93 RPPronounced aromas of ripe red and black fruit are shaded with hints of leather, smoke, and wild herbs for a somewhat rustic edge. On the palate, the wine is fresh and lively, with a luminously round and satisfying fruit character through the finish. Vincent owns 0.81ha in this lieu-dit, essentially a continuation of Gravières, planted on a white marl soil and it was here that he harvested the ripest fruit of 2019. Drinking Window 2021 - 2029.Decanter | 92 DECThe 2019 Santenay Le Passetemps 1er Cru veers more towards red fruit on the nose, lively and floral with rose petals and incense. Lovely transparency here. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness on the entry, good density and gentle grip. Darker fruit than on the nose, this offers lovely blackberry and cranberry mixed with subtle sous-bois notes on the finish. Give this 12-18 months in bottle.Vinous Media | 91 VM
