2010 san filippo brunello di montalcino le lucere Brunello

Aromas of crushed raspberries, cherries and blackberries expand your senses. There are also freshly sliced mushroom,s wet earth and bark. It’s full-bodied with an incredible depth of fruit and a savory, salty, almost grilled meat character. Layers and layers of fruit and tannins. A truly great wine. Better in 2020.James Suckling | 99 JSAged two years in oak, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucére is expressive and deep with thick lines and a profound sense of extraction. This is a lovely wine that occupies a special place on the opulent side of the Brunello spectrum. Of course, the amazing quality of fruit in 2010 has given winemakers more variables and raw material to play with. The wine shows dark concentration and an impenetrable appearance. Dried fruit, clove, nutmeg and toasted almond segue to cola, licorice and pressed rose petal. The mouthfeel is sweet and chewy but the overall effect is spectacular. This wine marks a huge improvement over past efforts.Robert Parker Wine Advocate | 96 RPFresh cherry and berry flavors lead to leather, tobacco and herbal notes in this focused, balanced red. Though firmly structured, everything is in the right proportions here, with a long aftertaste. Best from 2019 through 2034. 900 cases made, 400 cases imported.Wine Spectator | 95 WS

2010 lisini brunello di montalcino Brunello

One of the stand outs of the vintage, Lisini's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino fleshes out in all directions with gorgeous, expansive richness. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive, yet backed up by notable freshness. A crescendo of incredibly pure dark red and black stone fruits builds on the huge finish. The 2010 is dazzling, but readers will have to be patient.Vinous Media | 95 VMA silky and refined wine with pepper, spice and berry character. Full body, fine and dense tannins and a juicy finish. Drink now or hold.James Suckling | 94 JSLisini's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino opens to dark concentration and extraction. On first nose, it shows floral aromas of pressed rose and violet, but after a few minutes in the glass the wine begins to offer dark cherry, dried blackberry, Indian spice, teriyaki sauce, crushed mineral, licorice and cola. Its personality bridges aspects of both elegance and power. The 2010 vintage offers a very beautiful interpretation for Carlo Lisini Baldi. The mouthfeel is extremely soft and supple. It delivers pretty end notes of dusty mineral and clay earth. This delicious wine has nowhere to go but forward.Robert Parker Wine Advocate | 94 RPBright, evoking pure cherry and strawberry flavors, with light touches of earth, briar and tobacco in the background. Juicy and elegant, firming up on the long, tea- and iron-accented aftertaste. Best from 2018 through 2030. 2,500 cases made.Wine Spectator | 94 WSBroad fresh and sweetly smoky. Pure Floral and mineral red berry aromas give plenty of life. Good tannin structure with spices; complex and full bodied, should develop. 2010 fuligni brunello di montalcino Brunello

I really appreciate the dark-berry and burnt-orange aromas that follow through to a full body, very integrated tannins and a ripe, juicy fruit character. Savory, succulent and salty. Hints of chocolate and salted nuts. So juicy and gorgeous. A fabulous red. Drink now but also hold for years ahead.James Suckling | 98 JSThis opens with aromas of blue flower, red berry, menthol and baking spice. The delicious palate delivers juicy red cherry, crushed plum, cinnamon, white pepper and mineral. Impeccably balanced with polished tannins and freshness, it impresses for its combination of intensity and elegance. Drink 2018–2028.Wine Enthusiast | 96 WEThe 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is all about balance. Remarkably seamless for a young Brunello, the 2010 is also quite expressive and open at this stage, which is one of the signatures of the vintage. Bright red stone fruits, wild flowers and cinnamon are all given an extra kick of intensity and focus from the high acidity of the year. This is a terrific showing from Fuligni.Antonio Galloni | 94 AGA bright, spice-laden version, with macerated cherry, strawberry, tobacco and earth flavors. The ample tannins add structure, yet the lasting impression is of sweet fruit and refinement. Best from 2018 through 2032. 2,500 cases made, 900 cases imported.Wine Spectator | 92 WS

2010 Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino "Tenuta Greppo" Riserva

The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is slow to open and I spent a good amount of extra time with this wine as a result. It was well worth the wait. The intensity inches up in baby steps. With time, the wine is splendent and focused with a very direct and impactful delivery of aromas. It also shows a specifically floral personality with dried rose petal or blue violet that I did not recognize in most of the other Brunellos from this classic vintage. There is power and determination behind those feminine aromas. The wine makes a lasting impression in the mouth, thanks to the textual tightness of its tannins and the refreshing crispness of the acidity. The Riserva sees fruit sourced from Il Greppo’s oldest vines (25-years-old and more) and the wine ages in traditional oak casks for three years. Some 13,600 bottles were made.Robert Parker Wine Advocate | 96 RP
