2007 Seventy Five The Sum Proprietary Blend

OK, so I didn't really come up with 75 reasons to buy this wine, but I thought it was a catchy title.  However, if you read this blog and are still not convinced... go to the website, get a history lesson (each time you navigate to a new page, a 1975 history fact pops up), and read how passionate the wine maker is about his products and work ethic.  He states "I insist on over-delivering on every one of your expectations: wine quality, pedigree and price."  And that he does!

Inside this artsy labeled bottle is a supernatural California red that is simply irresistible.  It's a massive structured wine that is able to be enjoyed now, but will have a long life ahead of it.  It's the Shelby Mustang of wines, and it's firing on all cylinders.  This powerhouse is a beautifully balanced delight to drink, and it's not at all over-powering, but rather is delicately tamed with finesse.

The nose is a beautiful collaboration of buttered toast, cinnamon, cherry, and black fruit. It is so delightful, I didn't even want to take a sip; I just wanted to breathe it in.  I was afraid the aromas would vanish if I removed the glass from my face.  I finally took my first sip, and the deep purple liquid coated my entire palate as if a bucket of paint was splashed on an art canvas.   Wonderful liquefied fruit poured into my mouth, tamed by firm tannins and oak.  Complex, balanced and delicious...

This experience wasn't a wine tasting but rather a breathtaking journey to the heart of Tuck Beckstoffer's vineyard, where you can breathe in the Napa soil and feel the California heat on your face.  I was picking the grapes, sweating under the blazing California sun beams, taking extra care not to mishandle this amazing fruit.  I quickly shook my head back to reality, but it really made me appreciate the hard work the wine maker must have gone through to bring this vivid experience to life... and it was sitting in a wine glass right in front of me.  This delicious wine is a true reflection of the labors that went into creating this masterpiece.  How he delivers such an amazing wine for a ridiculously low price is art itself.  You might have to go back to 1975 when he first began his endeavor to see for yourself.  He may even have a wine that can do that.
