2016 Ulysses is Napa’s next big thing! Many of you scooped up this 99 pointer on pre-arrival. The remainder of that lot has since checked in. 2016 Ulysses is such a GREAT wine! This $155 bottle competes with revered $1,200 wines and has the same mega scores. Just look at the chart below. If you missed 2016 Ulysses on the first offering, here’s another chance to score this epic wine!

Ulysses is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It comes from the Dominus team and Christian Moueix, maker of the iconic Dominus and Petrus. Moueix acquired Ulysses vineyard in 2008 and produced its first vintage in 2012. This property is just south of To Kalon and a bit north of Moueix’s Napanook, producing only 1300 cases in 2016. The winemaker of Ulysses is Tod Mostero who is also the winemaker at Dominus. His impressive resume includes time spent at Petrus, Haut Brion, Domaine Romanee Conti and Almaviva.

This gorgeous, showstopper wine is also from a brilliant vintage for Napa Valley. "2016 is an incredibly beautiful, classic year for Napa Valley, which produced an enormous amount of high-quality wines. The best 2016s shine for their purity of fruit, ripe, polished tannins, and impeccable balance." - Jeb Dunnuck

Wine critic, Robert Parker, has called this wine “A Napa version of a first or second growth Pauillac.”

“The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is fabulous. Bright, powerful and pulsing with energy, the 2016 possesses stunning textural depth allied to a real sense of drive… 2016 Ulysses simply towers with pedigree and character. I loved it.” – Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
