Limited: Biodynamic 2022 Domaine Vacheron Sancerre Rosé

If you love Sancerre and Rosé, you’ve got to try this amazing Sancerre Rosé that just arrived! Provence may be the benchmark most use for Rosé, but there are a number of other regions making excellent examples, including Sancerre.

2022 Domaine Vacheron Sancerre Rosé is a 95 point, new arrival that we absolutely love! It screams “summer!” Domaine Vacheron is always in the upper echelon of Sancerre producers and is known as one of Sancerre’s elite properties, producing white and red Sancerre of amazing purity and definition, as well as Rosé. Pinot Noir is not an afterthought chez Vacheron, but a focus, and on soils just a couple of hours west of Burgundy, they are making grand, expressive bottlings from the varietal.

“Always one of the top rosés from Sancerre by anyone’s reckoning, the secret to this wine is that it has never been an afterthought.” - Domaine Vacheron

Yes, the pale salmon color is the result of a direct pressing of Pinot Noir from 30-50 year old vines planted on flint, clay and limestone soils, and the 2022 Domaine Vacheron Sancerre Rosé we recently checked in continues this trend.

We thoroughly enjoyed a bottle over the weekend, and it probably displayed the most intense and juicy flavors of any Rosé we’ve had this year so far. Subtle aromas of red berries and blood orange with intensely elevated focused and juicy flavors of same with addition of slight tropical notes like grilled pineapple and star fruit. The finish is slightly chalky with white pepper. This is a wine that you simply can’t put down and leaves you begging for another sip. Delish!

There’s not much of this out there as most of the production stays in Europe. We have minimum quantities left, so if you’re interested in it, grab it sooner than later! $48.99 / bottle and in stock and ready to ship.

Cheers!
