Cheval Blanc's 98-Point Grand Cru from Argentina

If you’re looking for something new and delicious to experience, we have the wine for you - 2020 Cheval des Andes! Cheval des Andes is a joint venture between Chateau Cheval Blanc (Bordeaux) and one of Argentina’s top wineries, Terrazas de los Andes. Described as a ‘New World Grand Cru’, Cheval des Andes is a high-end wine project with Gerald Gabillet as the winemaker. He works closely with the Chateau Cheval Blanc team throughout the entire winemaking process to create this iconic South American First Growth. Previously, he was at Chateau Angelus in Bordeaux.

The 2020 vintage of Cheval des Andes is a 98 point Bordeaux blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot, “which makes a comeback as it was not used since 2016”. (RPWA)

Cheval des Andes hails from Argentina and is a must try for any fan of Cheval Blanc or Right Bank Bordeaux. This 98 pointer is priced at only $89.99 for now, but would easily sell for more in Bordeaux. This wine is drinking well now - 2034.

“The wine is the Argentinean expression of Cheval Blanc. And I can only agree.” - Robert Parker Wine Advocate

“Great stuff, playing at a high level.” – Jane Anson

Cheers!
