We’re excited to bring you this mega Right Bank Bordeaux deal – 2009 Chateau Canon – 99 points for only $179.
Chateau Canon is one of the most reputable producers in Saint Emilion. It’s a tiny, historic chateau that was purchased by the Wertheimer/Chanel group who brought it back to its prior glory, and way beyond! 2009 Canon is one of the great St. Emilions, rated 99 points for only $179 bottle (for an 11-year old Bordeaux).
This 99 pointer is also from the incredible 2009 vintage, one of the top vintages to ever come out of Bordeaux. Wine critic Robert Parker said, "2009 is the greatest vintage I have tasted in Bordeaux since 1982, of which it is a modern-day version, but greatly improved." Parker has retired from rating new vintages of Bordeaux, leaving 2009 as one of the best vintages he's ever tasted.
This 2009 is rated higher than Chateau L’Angelus that sells for $400 bottle, at less than 50% less. It’s actually better!
2009 Chateau Canon vs Chateau Angelus | Score | Price per Bottle |
2009 Chateau Canon | 99 JD | $179 |
2009 Chateau Angelus | 98+ JD | $400+ |
"The 2009 Chateau Canon is brilliant in every regard and certainly one of the finest wines from this estate I've ever tasted." - Jeb Dunnuck
This wine is drinking well and should continue to do so until 2039.
Cheers!
