Sancerre is one of the most well-regarded wine districts within the Loire Valley in France. Sancerre is to Sauvignon Blanc as Burgundy is to Chardonnay.

We have an amazing 93 point Sancerre to share with you, 2022 Henri Bourgeois Sancerre La Cote Des Monts Damnes. The Henri Bourgeois family has been based in the village of Chavignol for ten generations, and their 2022 La Cote Des Monts Damnes is a great example of delivering the depth Sancerre can attain with a broad spectrum of aromas and flavors, along with textbook chalky sea shell texture.

When it comes to villages, Chavignol is the Puligny Montrachet of Sancerre with many producers focusing on its name more than the region. Taking into consideration exposure, steepness, and soil complexity, Monts Damnes is the unofficial Grand Cru of Chavignol - in essence a blend of Batard,

If you love Sancerre, we have a terrific, new arrival for you – 2021 Domaine Vacheron Sancerre. Domaine Vacheron is always in the very upper echelon of Sancerre producers and consistently produces a great set of wines year after year. If you are unfamiliar with Vacheron, it is one of Sancerre’s elite houses with some of the most coveted parcels in the appellation. It was completely converted to biodynamic farming (certified Biodvin in 2005), and run by two young cousins that take a Burgundian approach to wine making.

Most of the properties are on hard “silex” flint soils with a few smaller holdings on softer limestone and clay, and their “village” Sancerre draws from both to create a subtle yet mineral infused and completely satisfying wine.
