This lively rosé Champagne has a fresh, breezy feel, thanks to a citrusy overtone of ruby red grapefruit. Reveals a refined mousse that carries additional flavors of white cherry, almond skin, oyster shell and tangerine, while well-knit acidity and saline tang show on the finish. The wine is aged sur latte for thirty months prior to disgorgement and finished with a dosage of nine grams per liter. The wine is nicely salmon in color and delivers a refined bouquet of blood orange, sumac, a touch of clove-like spices, rye bread, chalky soil tones and a touch of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and focused, with an excellent core of fruit, good mineral undertow, snappy acids, frothy mousse and fine length and grip on the youthfully complex and very nicely balanced finish. This is quite tasty already, but to my palate, a year or two in the cellar would really pay lovely dividends, as it would give the acids a chance to relax a bit more and the wine would really open out on the backend.
