Beaulieu Vineyard, established in 1900 by Georges de Latour and his wife, is said to be the first Napa Valley Cult Wine. Georges and his wife originally bought four acres and over the next several decades, expanded their land holdings. Georges set out to produce wines that rivaled French wines, and that he did.
Beaulieu Vineyard is one of the oldest and most historic estates in Napa. Their first vintage of Private Reserve was released in 1940, “a wine that was destined to become Napa Valley’s first “cult” Cabernet.
