2019 Brunello di Montalcino Vintage Report: A Vintage You Don’t Want to Miss!

2019 Brunello di Montalcino is “…the vintage we’ve all been waiting for,” so “Buckle your seatbelts,” and strap on your helmets because the newest vintage from Montalcino is “…an embarrassment of riches for collectors and fans of the appellation” (Eric Guido, Vinous Media). The hotly anticipated Brunellos have “…definitely lived up to [their] lofty reputation as an excellent vintage across Montalcino” (Kerin O’Keefe). It showcases the extraordinary qualities of Sangiovese, Tuscany’s most famous and beloved grape variety, and its ability to exploit the region’s phenomenal terroir. This “…magical year…” (Giacomo Neri of Casanova di Neri) of “radiance and appeal” (Eric Guido) will likely set a new benchmark for Brunello wines for years to come.

According to Italian wine expert, Kerin O’Keefe, she has “…never tasted so many drop-dead-gorgeous young Brunellos from a single vintage.” She confesses that many of the best wines stopped her in her tracks, generating that “…magical mome

A Mind-Blowing Meursault That Over-Delivers for the Price

Meursault is famous for its white wines, and we have an incredible one that we know you’ll love!

“I tried a bottle of 2020 Thierry & Pascale Matrot Meursault last night, and it blew my mind! I thought I had opened a $200 Puligny Montrachet, maybe Leflaive… it was so pure, crisp and intense. And those are not very Meursault-like characteristics, but over an hour that telltale richness came out and harmonized with the intensity. It was pure magic. I was surprised that it’s in the $60 range. This is one of the most special Meursaults I’ve tasted, and for sure is the best village Meursault I’ve ever tried. Even Boillot, who I adore, doesn’t have the cut and intensity of this, combined with that lovable richness that we all seek from this region. I give it 97 points." - Dave Sokolin

Most of all, this wine is just delicious. It keeps evolving over the hours. It’s f

One of the Most Affordable Rosés in Our Inventory!

It’s not summer without a delicious bottle of Rosé, and we offer only the best ones! Rather than offer countless pink wines, we keep our offerings to a minimum as we are very selective in choosing which Rosés become part of our inventory.

We love the Rosés from Domaine La Suffrene, a family owned domaine and one of the leading producers in Bandol. Bandol is a very small appellation of Provence, France and is known for its great terroir and for producing Rosés that have the ability to age. Bandol is one of the oldest protected designations of origin in France (recognized in 1941). At Domaine La Suffrene, grapes are harvested by hand, go through a rigorous selection process, and yields are low. For over 100 years, the vines have been in the family.

Vacheron: One of Sancerre’s Elite Houses

If you love Sancerre, we have a terrific, new arrival for you – 2021 Domaine Vacheron Sancerre. Domaine Vacheron is always in the very upper echelon of Sancerre producers and consistently produces a great set of wines year after year. If you are unfamiliar with Vacheron, it is one of Sancerre’s elite houses with some of the most coveted parcels in the appellation. It was completely converted to biodynamic farming (certified Biodvin in 2005), and run by two young cousins that take a Burgundian approach to wine making.

Most of the properties are on hard “silex” flint soils with a few smaller holdings on softer limestone and clay, and their “village” Sancerre draws from both to create a subtle yet mineral infused and completely satisfying wine.

“The Sancerre, coming from vines planted on the fault line between silex and caillottes (hard shards of limestone), is absolutely fabulous and
